Hotel Photography Guide

This is your guide to assure the hotel is well prepared for a professional photoshoot

Exterior

  • Clean exterior of any debris
  • Tidy all landscaping
  • Remove all movable eye distractions (i.e. trash cans, ash trays, cars, banners, etc.)
  • It is recommended to block parking spaces around the entrance and area of exterior shot to ensure the spaces are empty during the shoot, however we do understand it might not be possible at times

Lobby

  • Clean lobby thoroughly
  • Remove all movable eye distractions (i.e. trash cans, cords, cables, ash trays, etc.)
  • Have lobby tidy, organized and free of props (magazines, promotional material, banners, etc.)
  • Have all lights on and all televisions off (we will add a nice image to replace the TV screen)
  • Straighten wall art and lamp shades

Guest Rooms

  • Pre-block rooms before photo shoot
  • Clean room(s) thoroughly
  • Remove all eye distractions; trash cans, cords, cables, ash trays, etc.
  • Have room(s) tidy, organized and free of props (flower vases, magazines, laptops, promotional material, cups/glasses, coffee machine, ice bucket etc.)
  • Have all lights in the room on and all televisions off
  • Straighten wall art, lamp shades and close closet doors
  • Iron bedspreads if needed, pin linens to the Mattresses and fluff pillows

Guest Room Bathrooms

  • Clean vanity and bathroom area thoroughly
  • Remove all movable eye distractions (i.e. Cords, cables, trash cans, ash trays, etc.)
  • Remove the ice bucket and coffee maker from the vanity (recommended)
  • Arrange toiletry items attractively on the counters
  • Put toilet lids in the down position
  • Arrange towels on rack to be at equal length
  • Shower curtain can be open or closed depending on property specifications
  • Straighten wall art (if applicable)

Conference Rooms/Meeting Spaces/Banquet Rooms

  • Choose a type of setting the room is most commonly used for
  • Room should look as if an event is taking place
  • Clean room thoroughly
  • Remove all movable eye distractions, (i.e. cables, trash cans, ashtrays, etc.)
  • Curtains, if view photographically pleasing open curtains
  • Leave projector, white LCD TV and laptops turned off
  • Straighten paintings and lamp shades
  • It is recommended to have the coffee station set up; this is at the discretion of each property
  • Do not book the room during the scheduled photo shoot time, if possible

Pool

  • Clean the pool area just prior to shooting
  • Remove all movable eye distractions, (i.e. cables, trash cans, pool toys, ashtrays, etc.)
  • Dry any water puddles around the pool
  • Arrange all chairs to face the pool
  • Open all umbrellas (if applicable)
  • Tidy all landscaping (if applicable)
  • Turn on Whirlpool (if applicable)
  • Turn off TV’s (if applicable)

Fitness Center

  • Clean the fitness area just prior to shooting
  • Place all equipment in its proper place
  • Positioning of the machines is very important on how the space is going to photograph
  • Have all rearrangements complete prior to the shoot (if necessary)
  • Remove all movable eye distractions, (i.e. cables, trash cans, etc.)
  • Turn off TV’s 

Business Center

  • Clean business center area thoroughly
  • It is very important for the whole room to be tidy, organized and free of props (magazines, promotional material, banners, etc.)
  • Remove all movable eye distractions, (i.e. cables, trash cans, etc.)
  • Straighten wall art and lamp shades
  • Arrange chairs to face the same direction

Breakfast Area

  • It is recommended to have the breakfast area photographed after normal breakfast hours
  • Clean breakfast area thoroughly
  • Remove all movable eye distractions (i.e. table tents, trash cans, cords, cables, ash trays, etc.)
  • Ensure the breakfast area is completely set up as if you were preparing for your guests
  • Arrange chairs to face towards the table(s)
  • Straighten wall art and lamp shades
  • If cupboards are in the room, please secure them in the closed position
  • No disposable utensils or tablewear in the photos

Restaurant

  • Clean restaurant thoroughly
  • Ensure restaurant is completely set up as if you were preparing for your guests
  • Arrange chairs to face towards the table(s)
  • Remove all movable eye distractions (i.e. table tents, trash cans, cords, cables, ash trays, etc.)
  • Straighten wall art and lamp shades

Bar/Lounge

  • Clean Bar/Lounge area thoroughly
  • Ensure Bar/Lounge is completely set up as if you were preparing for your guests
  • Remove all movable eye distractions (i.e. table tents, trash cans, cords, cables, ash trays, etc.)
  • Arrange chairs to face towards the table or face the same direction if at bar
  • Straighten wall art and lamp shades
